road runner and coyote 5219 300x225 How To Answer The What Do You Do For Living? Question..Ever felt like you didn’t know how to answer people when they asked you certain questions? You’re going along your day, having a conversation with someone when all of a sudden, they ask you: “Well, what do you do for a living?” Of course you’re trying to say something intriguing to tell them so that they may be interested in what you have to say. Then all of a sudden, you sound like a bumble bee.

Well um, I…umm…well you know.. i’m a distributor for a life-enhancement company that allows you financial freedom….ummm…

Right? So then they ask you “Oh ok, and how’s the family doing?” Yea, you just lost them right there. Well there is a way to fix that problem and it actually peeks your prospect’s interest. I learned some of these tricks from Tom Big Al Schreiter, who’s a network marketing legend.

Here’s a couple phrases you can say the next time someone asks youWhat Do You Do For A Living?“:  

1. I’m a network marketer. People call me when they are ready to increase their incomes and work for themselves.

2. I show people how to fire their boss.

3. I show people how to feel 20 years younger.

4. I show people how to retire early.

5. I show people how to start their own business without a lot of capital.

6. I show people how to have all the free time they want — and still have a full-time income.

7. I help people by showing them how to (whatever benefit your company offers)……”It’s lots of fun and my business is growing. I’m always looking for some partners who would like to make some extra money with me.”

8. I sell natural products and also diet products that help people lose weight fast, without exercising. Plus, I’m always looking for some additional help to spread the word. Seems more and more people today want to make some extra money on the side.”

9. Did you know that there are two types of people in this world? Those who get a word-of-mouth advertising bonus check everyweek…and those who don’t. Which group would you like to be in?”

See, every single one of those lines will most likely get your prospect saying “Tell me more”…or “How”. That’s exactly what you want. You want prospects coming to you, begging for a presentation. At that point, you can simply tell them that you’ll send them information if they’re open to taking a look.

Remember, DON”T PRESENT!! That’s why you have the tools for. Send them to a professional presentation and let the tools do the presenting for you. Your job is not to try and spend 45 minutes doing a presentation right there and there because if you try to do a presentation with them, they’ll most likely give you the “I don’t have time” objection, simply because they’ll think that THEY themselves have to do 45 presentations as well. So if they’re open or want more info, send them to a presentation and then follow-up with them.

That’s it. That’s how you answer that question. Of course you can be creative yourself and come up with your own response but try to build curiosity with them.
