One of the biggest ideas and strategies used that has made lots and lots of network marketers very rich. Maybe you saw a video about it and you don’t quite understand it. Well, don’t worry because inside this article I’m going to break down the funded proposal concept. Maybe the question you might have is “DO I REALLY NEED THE FUNDED PROPOSAL?” Well, here’s the truth. The funded proposal is the process of selling an inexpensive product on the front end to cover your advertising costs, and then having your MLM business on the backend. The funded proposal is also a way for you to weed out the “weak” people and sponsor the “GOOD” people. It is a strategy that is used for someone to get paid to prospect, meaning they make money even if no one joins their MLM business. See this is what happens: Most network marketers who are promoting their business online, have no idea how to market. What they do is that they simply push their company and their replicated sites around, pitching everyone who is breathing. They go on Facebook and post links on everyone’s wall, saying “Join my company NOW. We are on the GROUND FLOOR!!! Take your spot!!“
The idea of a funded proposal is for you to provide a solution to an existing problem. As a marketer, you want to understand your target market. In our cases, it’s really 2 types of people: current network marketers & those currently searching to join a home-based business. There are other people to whom you can target as well but when you’re marketing online, those are the people you want to market to. But why would you want to target network marketers? Well it’s because network marketers already GET IT! They’re already in the game. You don’t have to draw circles, telling them about the “3-foot-rule”, or explain to them that “its not a pyramid”, or try to convince them that network marketing is the path to financial freedom. They already get it and they’re already IN. However, most network marketers are not making more than $10 bucks a week. They’re struggling with 2 major problems:
Lack of Leads & Lack Of Money
That’s it! They don’t have great upline support or they’ve exhausted their family and friends. Now they need more leads and they need to make more money because their autoship is costing them more than they’re making and they’re not signing up people fast enough. That’s where the funded proposal comes in. Also, people who are currently looking to join the network marketing industry want to work with leaders and experts who can teach them how to build the business. They’re looking for a leader to follow. They’re looking for that mentor.

Most people don’t know how to make the funded proposal work for them so here’s how you can do it. Ok, so you got the struggling network marketers and you’ve got people looking to join the industry. What is the best thing to offer them? TRAINING!!! You want to offer people valuable training. You don’t want to offer them just your opportunity. It’s useless to offer them that if they don’t know how to build it. So the funded proposal shows them how to build a network marketing business.
What exactly can be a funded proposal? It could be a book on how to attract prospects, instead of chasing after them. With the funded proposal, you can make money from those prospects who say “NO” to joining your team. It still keeps you in the game while making money at the same time. Also you’re able to weed out the “weak” from the “Good” prospects. If someone’s not willing to invest $40 bucks into their business, then you don’t have a good prospect and you don’t need to waste an hour on the phone with that person.
People want training and ways to build a business. They don’t need a business if they don’t know how to build it. By you offering them this valuable training, they’ll buy from you and become your friend. Since you’ve been a leader towards them and showed them ways to build a business, they will most likely come to you when they’re ready to join a company. Or if you have an existing network marketer and you’re solving their problems, they’ll most likely wanna join your team because you’re helping them out more than their upline is.
It’s much easier to have an existing customer buy more stuff from you (including joining your team), then it is from a complete stranger. Also, if you’re doing paid advertising and promoting a low end product, you can actually recover your advertising costs to the point where you’re actually making money from each lead. Here’s the shocking truth about the funded proposal that many people will NOT tell you about. The truth is this: You Can STILL Build A 6-Figure or even 7-Figure Network Marketing, Direct-Sales Business Without Using This Strategy!!! As a matter fact, before Mike Dillard, before all this funded proposal stuff, BILLION DOLLAR MLM companies (that’s BILLION, not million) have been built and created. People have made MILLIONS of dollars in MLM without the funded proposal. People are still making millions till this day without the funded proposal. They’re just working 10x harder and dealing with FAR MORE rejections.
The truth is that using a funded proposal is extremely SMART and PROFITABLE if you’re deciding to market your business on the internet. However, not everyone is technically gifted and will use the internet to build their business. Many people will still build their business by “face-to-face” talking to people and doing hotel meetings. And they can be very successful at it. They won’t need to use a funded proposal and they can still make money in MLM. They just won’t profit from people who say “NO” to them and they’ll have to deal with lots and LOTS of rejections before they even make $300 bucks, because the fact is that 95% of people we talk to will NOT join our business. So let me just conclude by saying that if you’re doing internet marketing, using the funded proposal is really a must. However, if you’re NOT using the internet to build your MLM business (which I think you should), you can still make money without the funded proposal. You can still use offline prospecting techniques like Drop Cards or Bandit Signs or many other tactics. Just find what works for you and you’ll be ok. But understand that you won’t get paid to prospect!
