1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad-

This is a book written by Robert Kiyosaki.

Inside this book, Robert reveals what the RICH teach their kids about money that the poor and middle class people do NOT!

It’s one of the best-selling good financial books of all time and to be honest, I’ve never read a better financial book before.

This was the FIRST of the good financial books that I read and it TOTALLY changed the way I think about money.

If you’re going to get just ONE book, do NOT skip this one!

2. Cashflow Quadrant-

Another great book by Robert Kiyosaki. This book teaches you how to become financially FREE!

There are four types of people who make up the world of business but it’s the business owners and the investors (not the employees and the self-employed) who can create great wealth by accelerating their cash flow through those assets.

You’ll learn the SECRETS that separate regular people from all these wealthy people.

3. Richest Man In Babylon-

This one is AWESOME. I love it!

It’s written by George Classon and in this book you learn about the wise money strategies that have been around since ancient times.

It’s a very easy book to read because it’s in STORY form, and the golden nuggets you learn in there can change your financial future IF you APPLY them!

4.  Retire Young, Retire Rich-

Another great book by Robert Kiyosaki (as you can see I’m a fan of his books!)

In this book, Robert teaches you what he did to retire rich and young (he retired wealthy at age 47).

Inside this book, he talks about a secret 8-letter word that has made people like him wealthy, people like Bill Gates wealthy, people like Richard Branson wealthy, and MANY other wealthy people RICH!

5. Millionaire Next Door-

I just started reading this book and I haven’t finished it yet, but this book is very interesting and I recommend it.

It’s a book by Thomas Stanley that reveals the surprising secrets of America’s wealthy people.

And TRUST ME, driving a new BMW does NOT mean that you’re RICH. You’ll be surprised!

6. Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind-

I’m actually going to order this one very soon but this is a book by T.Harv Eker.

I saw a video about this book and some of the concepts he teaches and they’re very good.

Actually just thinking about it, I read some of it because my mom has a copy and I was skimming through it.

Some of the stuff I read were really good to learn.

He talks about your “financial thermostat” and how many people were programmed since a very young age to simply be BROKE all their lives.

So I’d recommend this book as well.

Like anything else, you can buy all 6 of these good financial books…but if you don’t IMPLEMENT and TAKE ACTION on what you learn, you will NEVER get ahead!

I was listening to a training call inside The Copywriter’s Guild and they talked about the 7 reasons why people buy.

Now if you know these 7 reasons, you’ll be able to use some of these in your copy when writing your ads, blog posts, emails, or whatever you’re promoting. It’s kinda like you reading your prospect’s mind.

Before I share with you these 7 reasons, I’d like to let you know that 95% of sales are for those 7 reasons. As a matter fact, I know that’s true because looking into those 7 reasons I could remember when I bought something and it was for those reasons.

And so, looking at them you’ll be able to remember as well many moments in your life where you’ve bought something and it was for those reasons.

I know I had MANY TIMES. But whenever I felt like giving up, I thought about some people who kept going even though they got knocked down.

One of them is Rocky. (LOL)

Remember “Rocky”?

Well Rocky (or Sylvester Stallone) was this boxer who had all these different kinds of boxing tournaments. He was a pretty good boxer and all and many people really liked him.

He was a fan favorite most of the times and he really inspired many people to achieve things that they thought they couldn’t achieve, simply by his accomplishments in boxing when sometimes it would seem like he would lose the fight.

I remember one fight in particular (I think it was in Rocky 4) when he had to go against this super weight Russian fighter. Now this Russian fighter was not your normal fighter.

I mean this guy was CRAZY built, could probably bench press like 500 pounds, and he was tall (about 6’7 or something). He worked out like a freaken horse, had stamina, and just looked like a VICIOUS BEAST, literally.

This was the guy that Rocky was going to go against.

So I remember watching the movie and they’re showing both of these guys during their training time before the actual match.

They show the Russian beast working out with free weights, spending countless hours at the gym, on the treadmill, everything.

Meanwhile Rocky was using more natural stuff like going up the mountains and once he reached the top, he screamed out “YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, I’M A CHAMPION!!! (or something like that).

He would carry people around in a chariot and do normal pushups in the sets of like 50 at a time. Chin ups, situps, using natural weights and heavy objects to work out.

The whole point is you didn’t see him at the gym. He was using more natural stuff.

So the day of the fight comes and there goes Rocky looking UP at this giant Russian dude. The guy tells Rocky “You’re Going DOWN” and then slams his fists down Rocky’s fists.

So the fight starts and the guy is just knocking the living crap out of Rocky. He’s just dominating this thing and it seems like Rocky is just going to lose.

After several rounds, Rocky gets knocked down again and then he stays down for a few seconds.

Looks like the fight is over, Rocky’s OUT!

Then all of a sudden, as if someone turned the light switch on, Rocky GETS UP!!

He fights back.

He uses some of his techniques and little by little starts to really fight this dude.

The guy can’t believe it. He says something in Russian like “This guy is not human.”(referring to Rocky)

All of a sudden, it looks like the Russian guy is losing stamina and is getting tired.

Rocky seizes the opportunity. 

One punch, two punch, three punch, four.

Jab, jab, uppercut, power punch right to the floor.

The giant can’t get up. He tries and tries but he stays down.

Referee calls it “ROCKY WIN”

Let me tell you something my friend, in life you’re going to get BEAT UP, especially when you’re pursuing something great that other’s have NOT done before.

People will beat you up. They’ll throw jabs at you. They’ll try to take you down, and they might with a powerful uppercut.

You’re going to get hit with lots of punches of life as well. You’re going to get knocked down, BADLY.

BUT DON’T STAY DOWN!!!

Get back up my friend, keep on fighting the good fight, DON’T GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT, and you WILL reach the top!

Cause after all the struggles, and after all the jabs and throw downs of life, once you become victorious you will look back at the battle and tell yourself “It was ALL worth it!”

You’ll be standing on top of the mountain. You’ll be looking down at those who tried to knock you down, and you will simply smile with VICTORY and hold your hands up and scream at the top of your lungs:

“I AM A CHAMPION !!!!!!!” 

A distributor passed away and went to heaven.

Arriving at the pearly gates, St. Peter said, “Come on in. I’ll show you around. You’ll like it here.”

Walking through the gates, the distributor noticed clocks everywhere.

There were grandfather clocks, wall clocks, watches, and clocks in every corner.

It appeared that heaven was nothing more than a giant clock warehouse.

Surprised at how heaven looked, the distributor asked: “St.Peter, what’s the deal? Why are all these clocks here in heaven?”

St. Peter replied: “The clocks keep track of things on earth. There is one clock for each person.

Every time the person on earth tells a lie, his or her clock moves one minute.”

“For instance, this clock is for Bob, the used car salesman. If you watch it closely, it will move.”

“Click.”

“The minute hand on Bob’s clock moved one minute.”

“Click.”

“It moved another minute. “Bob must be into closing a customer right now,” said St. Peter. “The minute hand on his clock moves all day.”

The distributor and St. Peter continued walking. Soon, they came to a clock with cobwebs on the minute hand.

“Whose clock is this?” asked the distributor.

“That clock belongs to the widow Amy. She is one of the finest, God-fearing, people on earth. I bet her clock hasn’t moved in a year or two.” replies St.Peter.

They continued walking and touring heaven. The distributor enjoyed watching the clocks of all his friends.

When the tour was finished, the distributor said, “I’ve seen everyone’s clock but Sleaze Shallowman’s. Where is his clock?”

When I was in college, I failed physics 3 times. As a matter fact, that was the ONE course I needed in order to graduate and get my Bachelor’s Diploma.

I’ve been a Kobe Bryant fan since he first entered the league in 1996 and so you can already expect for me to root for the Lakers next year, as I hope he gets his 6th ring.

But today as I was checking my email, I came across a video where Kobe is being interviewed. He mentions some very key points that I decided to write about here on this blog.

See for me, I really admire people who are very successful in their craft and Kobe is DEFINITELY one of those people. He mentioned some things that can really help you in your business and whatever you’re trying to pursue in your life.

Key Points Revealed

1. A DEFINITE Result

One day at a basketball summer camp, young Kobe along with the rest of teens there was asked to fill out a short application and in it write down some of the jobs that they would be pursuing.

Kobe wrote down “NBA player“.

His counselor sees Kobe’s application and tells him that he needs to pick something that’s “more realistic”.

“Huh, what do you mean? This is what I wanna do” says Kobe.

“No Kobe. Only one in a million players actually make it to the NBA. Take a look around you, look at all these players here. Everybody wants to be in the NBA.” says the counselor.

“Well I’m GOING TO BE IN THE NBA!” replies Kobe.

Do you see the difference between those who wish to be successful and those who KNOW they are going to be successful? Kobe didn’t “want” to be in the NBA. Kobe was GOING TO BE IN THE NBA!

There’s a major difference there. He had a DEFINITIVE PURPOSE and goal and he wasn’t going to stop until he reached that goal.

He was drafted to the NBA at the young age of 17.

You can apply that same principle in whatever goals you have in your life. If you want to become successful in whatever you’re doing, you have to KNOW that you’re going to be successful. You can’t just wish for it.

2. “Visioning” Success Before It Becomes A Reality (Dunking The Ball In Your Mind)

When Kobe was young, he would go to the playground all by himself and just play basketball. At that time he was short and would try to dunk the ball but he couldn’t even reach the basket.

However, in his “mind” he was dunking the ball.

Kobe has become one of the best dunkers in the game today and even won the 1997 NBA Slam-Dunk competition.

Before success, you have to vision it in your mind. Stop what you’re doing RIGHT NOW and take 30 seconds to think about your goals. Picture them in your mind and vision it. Visioning is one of the BEST ways to prepare your mind for success and work on your mindset.

You have to believe in yourself and literally vision yourself accomplishing what you want to accomplish. You have to “dunk the ball in your mind” before you actually slam that bad boy through the hoop!

3. Surviving The “Dark Times”

In 2003, Kobe was charged with sexual assault. Those charges would later be dropped and he would move on with his life. That time period would be one of the darkest times for him. It challenged him as a person, it was an EXTREMELY difficult time, and he had to do some soul searching at that moment.

The only thing he could do is put one foot in front of the other, and just continue to move forward. Some of those days were long and it seemed like that time would never end. But he just continued to march on forward.

On your journey to success, you’re going to face dark times. It is NOT going to be easy. If success was easy, everyone would be successful.

But that’s simply not the case. Success is a journey that will have many setbacks.

The ONLY way you can lose is if you quit. No matter the dark times, no matter the struggles, YOU MUST CONTINUE TO MARCH FORWARD, ONE STEP AT TIME TOWARDS YOUR GOALS!

NEVER EVER give up on your dreams. NEVER EVER give up on yourself. Understand that the trials and setbacks is only part of the journey. Once you reach the top, it will all be worth it.

3.   You Must Problem Solve

Finding out what your prospects want and helping them get it. You CAN NOT succeed in this business by being a mean person. If you’re willing to help other people make it and get what they want, you’re going to get what you want.

4.   You Must Be Consistent

The more you do something over and over again, the greater your odds are of remembering what worked the day before as opposed to a month before.

5.   You Must Get Clear With Your Action Motivator

What’s going to force you into ACTION? You’re going to have rainy days but what’s going to drive you through the struggle? You must have a strong WHY and simply getting out of debt and buying a new car won’t cut it.

6.   You Must Apply The Golden Rule

Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

7.   You Must Eliminate Any And All Escape Routes & Excuses

There is no quitting EVER! If there’s no back door for you, you have to figure out how to survive here. When you figure out how to survive, you’re going to have success. IT’S DO OR DIE. NO EXCUSE!!!

Since there’s no back door, the only thing for you to do is succeed.

8.   You Must Focus On Personal Development

Keep sharpening the saw. Keep working on your inner self. Don’t ever stop working on yourself.

9.   You Must FOLLOW-UP

Finish what you started. Don’t initiate contact with a prospect without following up with them. Your prospect is expecting you to follow-up with them.

10. You Must Copy Others

Copy and do what the Doers are doing! Do what the DOers do & don’t do what the DON’Ters do! Find someone who has what you want and do what they do, so you could also have what you want.

11. You Must Smile

Nobody likes grumpy people. Be positive. Smile more often. Even when you’re on the phone, smile cause they can feel it. The network marketing industry offers freedom! Be happy about what you’re offering.

12. You Must Be Curious

Don’t be fake to people. Be real.
